I miss you, I miss the Stefano of those years, always ready to help and help me, and never more than now would I need your help and support, but that is not the reason why I am writing to you.
Even after our friendship came to an end, I always thought that I owed you something, something concrete and substantial, for all that you did for me in that brief span of time, know that, after more than forty years, I am moving in that direction, and I am sure that you would be proud of me.
I finally understood how to help people with problems similar to yours, Stefano, and since I can no longer help you, I will help all those who find themselves in similar situations.

By the way:
1) But was it really necessary to terrify Cinzia that way? I understand that you wanted to be sure she would deliver the message, but there were consequences...and serious ones! Know that while I write these lines more than a year has passed...and she is still furious...WITH ME!
2) Actually I am writing to you in this form hoping to bypass the communication limits imposed while I am reincarnated (yes...I am trying to fool both my guides and the council of sages...naive, not to say clueless...I know), anyway I trust / hope that you will “hear” what I have to tell you...and...who knows, and besides the fact that you can no longer reply to me is more acceptable given the good advice you have already given me.
Since you can no longer reply to me I will imagine that you are still alive, grown up, that you have returned after a journey lasting over 40 years..and that we are having a pleasant conversation at the bar, I know you will listen to me Stefano, enjoy it from the wonderful place where you are now...we will talk about it better when I return too.
What killed you is not only a very hard opponent to beat, it is a mutant, it changes and takes on different forms, currently the drug that caused your passing claims far fewer victims, but in return it has been replaced by other drugs, only apparently less lethal but actually even more dangerous...to be clear it is stuff that destroys you anyway...just...much more slowly (so it can suck even more money out of you).
The fact is that here on Earth time has begun to flow much faster, it seems to me that centuries have passed compared to when we were young, and I am not speaking only of technological innovations, socially too it seems like another planet.
For example, would you ever have imagined that the underworld, as we knew it in our preadolescence, is today a tiny minority of losers devoid of any real influence? Would you ever have said that criminal organizations do more business and are more rooted in the north than in the south? And that the most influential mafia on the planet is no longer Italian but from a small Balkan country?...and that the legendary Felice Maniero became a state witness by selling out all his associates?.. someone who now has “cognitive disorders” and is so poor he cannot afford a nursing home?

Yes, I seem to see your astonished face while I tell you only some of the things that have happened in these years… and only for some aspects of society somehow linked to your passing!
This impetuous speed of time has made my work harder: It is no longer just ONE opponent to beat, there are many...strong..each with its own weak points to know….moreover everything is in continuous evolution, to give you an example: imagine that one of the drug addicts I spend time with told me (with an ecstatic smile) “ketamine is the heroin of the 2000s!”.
