Returning home through the light, Aisha was satisfied, almost euphoric about the life just lived as Rsaz, she thought it was a success to have finally felt completely fulfilled in a male body...OK..with the design of that body she had gone a bit overboard, and her guides had not failed to point it out to her (a comment by Yoda had been memorable: “not super-strong gorilla but human being you must design”), but at last she had felt completely fulfilled, happy simply to live on earth DESPITE being a man...wasn't this perhaps a huge result?
Only after the return procedures and the purification shower did she feel that something was disturbing her happiness: her soul essence was recomposing itself with all the ancestral memory..and an ever greater sense of “discomfort” was beginning to resurface.
Precisely for this reason it was she herself who requested/urged the post-life briefing, and she headed there with growing inexplicable ill humor despite the persistence of a positive expectation.
As often happened, the briefing was held in the life design room, as usual her guides were waiting for her in front of the multidimensional monitor, but this time they were both silent….they were all still continuing to stare at her when She burst out: “well, when do we begin? I did well..didn't I?”.
Yoda remained silent but closed his eyes and lowered his pointed ears slightly, while Barack motioned for her to come closer to the multidimensional monitor and said to her: “look for yourself”.
The “line of lives” was displayed, a linear representation of a person's life (in this case obviously Rsaz), which normally was a continuous line, but depending on possible probabilistic variants it could branch into other lines (like a tree), each variant with its own characteristics and a probability of occurring.
The system allowed one to “enlarge/zoom in on” each point/fragment of each possible life segment, displaying the relevant scenes and information on the other monitors.
The point where Rsaz's life had ended was clearly visible, but immediately before it there was another line of (re)starting, a sort of “fork” beginning from the point in Rsaz's life corresponding to the accident, it was the typical pattern in which a kind of “reset” or “new start” toward a life in fact completely new arose from the ashes of the previous experience, obviously the living subject could always refuse it by virtue of free will, but in this specific case the refusal automatically translated into the refusal of life itself, and led immediately to death.
Aisha shuddered, now she was beginning to remember everything. In practice she had gone out through the “wrong door” of a life that could bloom again in an unexpected way, with all the responsibilities deriving from having designed that life herself and from not having exerted any pressure to avoid its early ending, she wondered how it was possible that she had not noticed while the events were unfolding, and before expressing that question she received the answer.
Barack: “this time it was a DIRECT TEST ALSO FOR YOU AS A SOUL, not only for your reincarnated version, I know that NOW it may be painful for you, but I ask you to examine carefully the possible alternative course of Rsaz's life, the one potentially following the accident, which incidentally you had planned under our guidance”.
